The Deadwood Society Helps One Veteran Help Another

Phil (at left with Dead Wood Society Founder Rich Bergeron) is a retired Marine Corps veteran who is disabled. He recently had some firewood stolen from his yard, so we stepped in to assist. We delivered a half-cord of seasoned oak and maple to Phil to commemmorate Veteran's Day and continue our tradition of providing assistance to those who need it most. We started long before the snow arrived this year and will be donating another half-cord around Thanksgiving.

We must also extend a special thanks to Benny, another veteran who donated the trees left on his property by the power company. Benny was able to do something special for someone else who served our country with that gesture.

So, from one veteran to another, it was a great moment when the two connected by phone and Phil was able to give thanks. Benny responded by telling his new friend to keep warm with his new wood.

If you have any standing or fallen dead wood on your property that you would like to get rid of, please call Rich at 603-630-6235 or email rich.bergeron@gmail.com to schedule a day to have us come look at what you have available. The more we have available, the more people we can help with donations this season. Also, we are always looking for used equipment and tools for logging, which will also be put to good use helping veterans like Phil stay warm through the colder months.
